Career is an individual’s journey through learning work and other relevant experiences and other aspect of our life.
Career is a term used much in academic and popular writing about career. An individual can be described as successful in his/her working life.
CAREER GROWTH
Career growth means the ability to learn new skills and knowledge and use them in our life. Growth is the opportunity to take a new challenges and responsibilities and some might be to work.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
It is a lifelong process of managing learning, transitions, work in order to move towards a personally determine and evolving preferred future. Career development provides a person, a student, focus for selecting a career to undertake in the future.
CAREER SUPPORT
Career information that supports career and learning choice. Important for career information is labor market information (LMI) such as salaries of various professions, available training programs, employment rate in various professions, and current job openings.
Career education is a process by which individual come to learn about themselves, and world of work.
Education also occurs in a wider range of others contexts including further and higher education and at workplace.
The common problem that people may encounter when they trying to achieve an education for a career is COST. The benefit of schooling can greatly depends on the degree or certificate obtained. Sometimes, colleges also provide students more with just education to prepare for career and it is not uncommon for college to provide pathways and support straight into the work force the student may desire.
Before we choose the right career, we must learn about ourself. Our values, interests, aptitudes, in combination with our personality type, make some occupations a good fit for us and others completely inappropriate.
Choosing our career is one of the most important decisions we can ever make, one with far reaching implications for our happiness, financial status, health. It may be easier to do when we set career goals and put a plan in place to grow our career. Many people are not sure how to take charges of this process, letting change the factors such as convenient job offer from a friends determine the focus of its career.
6 WAYS TO STAND OUT AT WORK
- BE RELIABLE AND DEPENDABLE: Show up on time for every shift we scheduled for. Call in or send an email or text a message well ahead of time if we must be late or absent. Stay organized and keep us work area tidy. This habit shows our supervisor.
- BE PROACTIVE: Take responsibilities for what we done. Be accountable for any mistakes we make. Learn skill that will help us ti stand out. Take initiative, contribute without being asked.
- BE A TEAM PLAYER: Take a task that needs to be done, work with others to achieve common goal and destiny, whether or not our task is part of our job description. Share the information and resources, support and encourage our colleague and co-workers. Respect the opinions and knowledge of our co-workers.
- BE FLEXIBLE AND ADAPTABLE: Be aware that we can not control everything. Be ready and willing to compromise and prepared for the unexpected, keep learning.
- BE APPROPRIATE: Work safely, know the health and regulations and safety hazards in our workplace. Treat others as we will like to be treated. Be truthful and be honest, and maintain your integrity.
- BE POSITIVE: Show respect for us and also for others, be enthusiastic about our work, believe in our ability to do the job well, smile and be friendly with other. Expects positive results.
Our employer will appreciate our efforts, opening the doors to advancement or a glowing reference if the time comes for us to move on.
