Talking about Management Skills, those are such kind of skills which needs to be developed with passing time as we know that the generation that every manager interacts are dynamic. The changes in human behaviour describes the changes that needs to be made by every manager in order to deal with human resources to make them worth of doing corporate work.
Management is basically the way of maintaining the work process which leads an organization to earn the objective goals of its own. And in order to achieve its goals managers must have appropriate skills so that he/she can manage its co-workers. Good and efficient management skills are vital for an organization to achieve its mission and vision.
Management skills like planning, decision-making, problem analyzing,
communicating with the customers, time-management and organizing, those skills required certain analysing certified skills which make a particular manager to enhance its skills as they are crucial for various positions and at different levels of the company.
Basically there are three different types of management skills these includes-
- TECHNICAL SKILLS- As we know that with the changing environment the Industries and the companies are adopting new technologies which makes the works of the labours efficient and effective. So managers should develop those technical skills which will provide them the ability and the knowledge to use those techniques appropriately so that they can provide proper training to its labours.
- CONCEPTUAL SKILLS- Ideas with some creative spice generates new forms of doing a particular work. According to this skills managers needs to enhance their knowledge and ability to abstract thinking and formulating ideas. In case of any problem-solving situation the managers need to reform the existing plan in order to manage or solve that particular problem.
- INTERPERSONAL SKILLS- Interpersonal skills are those skills which basically means the way of interacting skills that a manager should possess. These skills will enable the managers to make use of human potential in the company and motivate them for better results. Management skills are of wide range that management possesses to run the organization. Basically there are three basic types of management skills which are described above. But based on certain management concepts and theories there are certain other examples of management skills.
- PLANNING SKILLS – Planning skills are those skills which required creative thinking and a sequence of planning which will be developed as per the plan. This process also includes identifying the future goals with various assumptions, strategies and outlying the task and schedules on how to achieve the set goals.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS – Communication means the way of interacting with other individuals. In case any organization every manager needs to communicate with other employees so that he assign right work to the right person. So communicating skills plays a vital role in any organization and this is the reason why managers should have proper skills.
- DELEGATION SKILLS – Delegation is the process of passing on work-related task to other employees and it can only be done only when managers build some good delegation skills within themselves.
- DECISION-MAKING SKILLS – Decision-making power is very much necessary in this dynamic world where there is not any certainty about the changes in human likes and dislikes. Managers with good decision-making skills can define its organization with good good-will, success, profits and last but not the least with large amount consumer gathering.
- PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS – It is the another important skill that every manager should have within. Every organization faces lots of problems in its day to day life due to increasing competition among the companies or industries. A good manager should have the ability to tackle any problem and solve it as soon as possible so that the company does not have to face any kind future problem. So, with all those management skills a person can be defined as a manager. And those skills require day to day practices and learnings which will provide positive impact in a person’s personality. And so I would say that to be a future manager a person should develop certain management skills so that he can survive in this dynamic world and can leads its subordinates for the better growth and progress of the organization.
